FYI -- The Boom's Back in 'Baby Boom'
The Baby Boom generation reached an important turing point on January1, 2001. The oldest of "Boomers" turned 65. The BB is the oversized generation that includes all persons, born in the USA, from 1946 to 1964.
By the year 2030, almost 20% (1 in 5 Catholics) will have reached 'senior citizenship' (age 65) -- but the elder Boomers will be unlike any previous senior citizen cadre that anyone or any church has ever experienced! The Baby Boomers represent a new and predictable kind of graying process in our parishes -- and they will present implications for our parish ministry efforts, as more and more Boomers slide toward retirement age.
